Los verbos reflexivos indican que el sujeto realiza la acción sobre sí mismo. Se conjugan con pronombres reflexivos.
| Persona | Pronombre reflexivo | llamarse |
|---|---|---|
| yo | me | me llamo |
| tú | te | te llamas |
| él/ella/usted | se | se llama |
| nosotros/as | nos | nos llamamos |
| vosotros/as | os | os llamáis |
| ellos/ellas/ustedes | se | se llaman |
Posición del pronombre: Antes del verbo conjugado: Me levanto. Después del infinitivo (unido): Voy a levantarme.
Verbos reflexivos comunes:
- levantarse (to get up), acostarse (to go to bed)
- ducharse (to shower), vestirse (to get dressed)
- llamarse (to be called), sentirse (to feel)
- sentarse (to sit down), irse (to leave)
Nota: Algunos verbos cambian de significado con y sin «se»: ir (to go) vs. irse (to leave), dormir (to sleep) vs. dormirse (to fall asleep).
Me levanto a las siete.
I get up at seven.
levantarse → me levanto. The reflexive pronoun 'me' goes BEFORE the conjugated verb.
Me llamo Carlos.
My name is Carlos.
llamarse = to be called (literally: to call oneself). 'Me' is the reflexive pronoun for yo.
¿A qué hora se acuestan los niños?
What time do the children go to bed?
acostarse → se acuestan. Note the stem change o→ue AND the reflexive 'se' for ellos.
