I'm going to make a doctor's appointment this very afternoon.

According to the weather service, it will be windy along the whole coast at the weekend.

Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?

El futuro simple es el más fácil de conjugar del idioma: las terminaciones se pegan al infinitivo entero y son iguales para -ar, -er e -ir.

Practice Exercises
Do not remove the infinitive ending: hablaré is built on 'hablar', not on 'habl-'. All six endings carry a written accent except nosotros (-emos). 🇬🇧 English speakers: Overuse the simple future because it looks like 'will'. In everyday Spanish 'voy a' is far more frequent — 'I'll call you tonight' is normally 'Te llamo esta noche' or 'Te voy a llamar'.

El domingo saldremos temprano para evitar la caravana de vuelta a Madrid.

Salir has the irregular stem saldr-. The endings are the ordinary future ones.

Voy a pedir cita en el médico esta misma tarde.

I'm going to make a doctor's appointment this very afternoon.

A decision already taken, happening soon: ir a + infinitive is what a Spaniard would actually say here.

Según la AEMET, el fin de semana hará viento en toda la costa.

According to the weather service, it will be windy along the whole coast at the weekend.

Forecasts are the natural home of the simple future. Hacer → har-, so 'hará', never *hacerá.
