Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?

Los verbos terminados en -ar son el grupo más grande de verbos regulares en español. Se conjugan así:

Recuerda: Quitar -ar del infinitivo para obtener la raíz, y añadir la terminación correcta.

Practice Exercises
Confusing -ar endings with -er/-ir endings (e.g., *hablo, *hablas is correct but *hables is -er pattern). Also forgetting the accent on -áis. 🇬🇧 English speakers: English verbs barely conjugate, so remembering 6 different endings is challenging. They often use the infinitive form for all persons.

Hablo español y un poco de inglés.

I speak Spanish and a little English.

hablar → yo hablo: remove -ar, add -o. Subject 'yo' is optional because 'hablo' already shows 1st person.

¿Dónde trabajas?

Where do you work?

trabajar → tú trabajas: stem trabaj- + ending -as for tú.

Estudiamos español todos los días.

We study Spanish every day.

estudiar → nosotros estudiamos: stem estudi- + -amos. The nosotros form always has the accent on -amos.
