Időhatározók: -kor, -ig
-kor = at (a specific time): Háromkor (at three o'clock), Karácsonykor (at Christmas).
-ig = until/up to: Háromig (until three).
-tól...-ig = from...to: Háromtól ötig (from three to five).
Common Error Patterns
Confusing -kor (at a point in time) and -ig (until/up to), e.g., 'háromig kezdődik' instead of 'háromkor kezdődik'.
Using -ig without the paired -tól when expressing a time range ('from...to').
Nyolckor kezdődik a film.
The film starts at eight.
'-kor' attaches directly to the number with no linking vowel. 'Nyolckor' = at eight.
Hatig dolgozom.
I work until six.
'-ig' = until. 'Hatig' = until six. No linking vowel needed after 'hat' (six).
Reggel nyolctól délután négyig dolgozom.
I work from eight in the morning until four in the afternoon.
The pair '-tól...-ig' expresses a time span. 'Nyolctól' = from eight, 'négyig' = until four.
