Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?
Los pronombres de objeto directo reemplazan al sustantivo que recibe la acción directamente:
| Persona | Pronombre OD | Ejemplo |
|---|---|---|
| yo | me | Me ves. (You see me.) |
| tú | te | Te llamo. (I call you.) |
| él / usted (m.) | lo | Lo compro. (I buy it.) |
| ella / usted (f.) | la | La veo. (I see her.) |
| nosotros/as | nos | Nos invitan. (They invite us.) |
| vosotros/as | os | Os llamo. (I call you all.) |
| ellos / ustedes (m.) | los | Los veo. (I see them.) |
| ellas / ustedes (f.) | las | Las compro. (I buy them.) |
Posición: ANTES del verbo conjugado: Lo compro. DESPUÉS del infinitivo (unido): Voy a comprarlo.
Lo tengo aquí.
The book? I have it here.
'Lo' replaces 'el libro' (masculine). Placed before conjugated verb.
La como todos los viernes.
Pizza? I eat it every Friday.
'La' replaces 'la pizza' (feminine). Position: before verb.
Quiero comprarlo mañana.
I want to buy it tomorrow.
With infinitive, pronoun attaches to the end: comprar + lo = comprarlo. Or: Lo quiero comprar.
