Aspekt czasownika — Verb Aspect
Every Polish verb has an aspect: imperfective (ongoing/repeated) or perfective (completed/one-time).

| pisać | napisać | to write |
| robić | zrobić | to do/make |
| czytać | przeczytać | to read |
| jeść | zjeść | to eat |
| pić | wypić | to drink |
Rule: Imperfective = process, habit, ongoing. Perfective = result, completion, single event. Perfective verbs have no present tense — their "present" form means future!
Piszę list.
I'm writing a letter. (right now)
Piszę list — imperfective, action in progress.
Napiszę list.
I will write the letter. (complete it)
Napiszę list — perfective 'present' form = future meaning. The letter will be finished.
Czytam codziennie.
I read every day.
Czytam codziennie — imperfective for habitual action. *Przeczytam codziennie* is wrong.
