I can choose between genitive and accusative by register and verb, keeping the fixed genitive verbs.

Tři bojiště dvou pádů:

Genitiv zní starobyleji a knižněji; akuzativ vítězí v běžné řeči. Pevně genitivní zůstávají: dosáhnout čeho, nabýt čeho, vážit si koho, všimnout si čeho.
- Accusative with the fixed genitive verbs: *dosáhnout úspěch → dosáhnout úspěchu; *všiml jsem si chybu → chyby
- Partitive overdone in plain requests — Dej mi vodu is the neutral default
