Word order as information structure: known first, new last (téma → réma), and how moving words changes the message
I can order sentences so the new information lands at the end, answering the actual question.
Regardez ces exemples. Pouvez-vous repérer le schéma grammatical ?
Tu zprávu mi řekl až večer Tomáš.
It was Tomáš who told me the news — only in the evening.
V Brně se nejlepší káva pije na Zelném trhu.
In Brno, the best coffee is drunk at the Cabbage Market.
Faites attention aux parties en surbrillance. Qu'ont-elles en commun ?
Český slovosled není volný — řídí ho aktuální členění: známá informace (téma) stojí na začátku, nová (réma) na konci:
| Otázka | Odpověď (réma na konci) |
|---|---|
| Kdo upekl koláč? | Koláč upekla babička. |
| Co upekla babička? | Babička upekla koláč. |
| Co s tím koláčem je? | Ten koláč je snědený. |
Stejná slova, jiné pořadí, jiné sdělení. Důraz na konci je neutrální; důraz jinde vyžaduje intonaci.
