-ता रहना - to keep doing

वह बोलता रहा। - He kept talking.
बारिश होती रही। - It went on raining.
तुम पढ़ते रहो। - You carry on studying.

The participle agrees with the subject, and रहना carries the tense.

किए जाना - to go on and on

The perfective participle plus जाना adds persistence, often with a note of exasperation:

वह बोले जा रहा था। - He just went on talking.
वे खाए जा रहे थे। - They kept eating and eating.
