Instrumental plural -y/-i/-ami/-emi and irregular lidmi/dětmi; the colloquial -ama register note
I can express accompaniment and means in the plural and recognize the colloquial -ama register.
Look at these examples. Can you spot the grammar pattern?
V pátek večer sedíme s kamarády u piva.
On Friday evenings we sit over a beer with friends.
Cestujeme s dětmi vlakem, mezi kufry a batohy.
We travel with the children by train, among suitcases and backpacks.
Před svátky šetříme penězi i silami.
Before the holidays we save both money and energy.
Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?
7. pád množného čísla (s kým? čím?):

Nepravidelné: lidmi, dětmi, přáteli, penězi. V běžné mluvě uslyšíte -ama (s klukama, se ženama) — je to obecná čeština, do psaného textu nepatří.
- Writing the colloquial form: *s kamarádama → s kamarády
- *s lidami → s lidmi
- RU/UK -ami transfer to masculines: *s pánami → s pány
