Ho parlato, ho venduto, ho dormito.
I spoke, I sold, I slept — regular participles.
Ho scritto una lettera e ho letto un libro.
I wrote a letter and read a book.
Ha fatto tutto e ha detto arrivederci.
She did everything and said goodbye.

Common Error Patterns
Using regular participle form for an irregular verb
Common irregulars: fatto (not *facuto), scritto (not *scrivuto), letto (not *legguto), preso (not *prenduto), detto (not *dicuto), visto (not *veduto).
Wrong regular participle ending
Regular pattern: -are→-ato (parlato), -ere→-uto (venduto), -ire→-ito (dormito). Remove infinitive ending, add participle ending.
Ho parlato, ho venduto, ho dormito.
