Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?

While sein, haben, and modals use their own Konj. II forms, most verbs use würde + Infinitiv.

Why? For most verbs, the 'real' Konj. II = Präteritum (ambiguous). Würde is unambiguous.

Unreal conditions: Wenn ich Zeit hätte, würde ich dich besuchen.

Polite: Würden Sie bitte das Fenster öffnen?

Wishes: Ich würde gern nach Japan reisen.

Double würde: ✗ Wenn ich haben würde, würde ich... → ✓ Wenn ich hätte, würde ich....
Würde with sein/haben: ✗ würde sein → ✓ wäre.
Word order: Infinitive at the end: würde morgen gern gehen.
