Ich warte auf den Bus.
I'm waiting for the bus.
Sie interessiert sich für Kunst.
She is interested in art.
Wir freuen uns auf den Urlaub.
We look forward to the vacation.
Er hat Angst vor Spinnen.
He's afraid of spiders.
Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?
Many German verbs require a fixed preposition (often different from English). Must be memorized.

| sich beschweren über | Akk | to complain about |
Key: sich freuen auf (future) vs. sich freuen über (now/past).
- Translating from English: ✗ warten für → ✓ warten auf.
- Auf vs. über with freuen: auf = future joy, über = current joy.
- Wrong case: ✗ denke an der Mann → ✓ denke an den Mann.
