Recognizing transgressives (-a/-ouc/-ouce, -v/-vši/-vše) in literary and older texts and rephrasing them
I can recognize transgressives while reading, restate them and use the frozen forms.
Look at these examples. Can you spot the grammar pattern?
Nehledě na déšť, vyrazili jsme na Říp.
Regardless of the rain, we set out for Mount Říp.
Stařec seděl u kamen, pokuřuje z dýmky.
The old man sat by the stove, puffing on his pipe.
Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?
| Typ | M / F+N / mn. č. | Příklad |
|---|---|---|
| přítomný (souběh) | -a/-e, -ouc/-íc, -ouce/-íce | Šel, zpívaje si. Seděla, čtouc knihu. |
| minulý (předčasnost) | -v, -vši, -vše | Dopiv kávu, odešel. |
